Be truthful. Your baby’s closet consists of only one or two colors. Three at the most. Shopping for baby clothes doesn’t give you much variety. It’s the same colors and designs with just a little variation of pattern, right? Bears, kittens, puppies, rabbits and fairies – and maybe a truck or two. Yawn. I came to learn this unfortunate truth, but then I discovered a number of online stores that sell pirate baby clothes on the internet.
Right now, I’m not exactly recommending you put a patch over your kid’s eye and give him a sword (although that would be cute too…), but I discovered wonderful little shirts and bibs with pirates on them that turned him into the edgiest baby at playgroup. These days wherever we go, I have other moms asking where I got his threads from. It’s pretty flattering.
Wouldn’t you think, after all the pirate hype of the last few years, that stores would get with the picture and start selling pirate baby clothes and other cool things? But most don’t. They just keep on presenting us with the same old blue and pink – or they try to trick us with the mystery colors: green and yellow. I can’t begin to tell you how boring it becomes when shopping for baby clothes and to be stuck with the same old choices. Hey, the pink and blue has it’s place, but sometimes I just want to bring on the difference. And until now, there hasn’t been much choice.
I love surprising a new mom with pirate baby clothes at her baby shower! It’s certain to be an original gift that no one else brought! And if you’d like to include the sword and eye patch, you can always give a baby pirate costume. Hip new moms will absolutely love these unique gifts.
If you want your baby to be as cool as you are, why not consider adding pirate baby clothes to his or her wardrobe. They will thank you later when they look back on their baby pictures and see that their mom wasn’t such a fashion tragic after all. Then they won’t be embarrassed when you show their baby photos to all of their dates! (Or they won’t be as embarrassed, anyways!)
So, stand up against the pastels, say ‘no’ to the pinks and blues, and give your little pirate some dignity in his pirate baby clothes!
